YOUR THOUGHTS
WE asked the Green Army to give their verdict on an eventful 2008 and their hopes for 2009.
The response has been fantastic and we have published a selection below.
We asked you to provide your name, age, seating area, type of ticket, highlight and disappointment of 2008, the one thing you would change about football, your favourite player and hopes for 2009.
The answers make interesting reading...

Name: Joe Rendle
Age: 9 years old.
Stand: Lyndhurst, Block 8
Type of Ticket: Regular supporter, home and away.
Highlight of the year: Running out with the team when I was team mascot for the pre-season friendly against Swindon Town.
Disappointment of the Year: Not being able to watch Argyle every week as I live in Wiltshire.
One thing I'd change about football: I would like to see more young English players playing in The Premiership.
Favourite player: Paul Gallagher. Because he makes the game look so easy and has has great skill.
Hopes for 2009: Promotion to The Premiership and to beat Arsenal in the Cup!
Name: Chris Bennett
Age: 20
Stand: Living in Manchester, it's usually the away end of whichever ground we're at but when I'm at home it's normally the Devonport.
Ticket: Pilgrim member.
Highlight: The Barnsley home game in February. First Mackie's two goals on debut and then Wotton's return - there was a lump in the throat.
Disappointment: The defeat at Burnley in January after the departure of Norris and Ebanks-Blake.
Change: The MK Dons should be forced to give their league place back to Wimbledon.
Favourite player: The Argyle legend that is Romain Larrieu. He must be an honorary Janner by now.
Hopes for '09: Finish ahead of Bristol City, preferably in the top half.
Name: Sam O'Flynn
Age: 21
Stand: Devonport Stand
Ticket: Under 23 Season Ticket Holder
Highlight of the year has to be Rory Fallon's scissor kick against Bristol City at Ashton Gate to put the greens 2-0 up.
Disappointment of the year has to be losing to Swansea at home 1-0
I would change the rule where players have to stand on the touchline waiting to get called back on by the referee when they have gone off to receive treatment
Favourite player is Emile Mpenza as he has strength, pace and can finish.
Hopes for 2009 is Argyle to beat Arsenal and to finish as high up in the league as possible.
Name: Brian Johnston
Age: 50
Stand: Mayflower
Ticket: Season-ticket holder
My highlight of the season was a difficult choice between drawing Arsenal in the FA cup and Pete Ridgeon buying a round in the Far Post club ( only kidding Pete).
Biggest disappointment was the recent defeat to Birmingham after such a spirited performance by the whole team .
The one thing I would change in football is the policy of all seater stadiums ( football is certainly not a seated spectator sport in my view ).
My favourite player is Marcel Seip who has certainly proved his worth on a consistant basis this season after his slight disagreement with management and a short period on the transfer list.
My hopes for 2009…. Shrewd signings and loans in January to propel us into the premier league would be nice!
Name: Matthew Montgomery
Age: 33
Stand: Lyndhurst
Ticket: white member
Favourite moment: Ten minutes period when we scored two goals against Cardiff, combination between Gallagher and Mpzena was a delight to watch.
Worst moment: Close call between losing the Blackpool game in a seemingly winning position to watching a dismal performance against Norwich.
What would I change in football: Close call again between linesmen (referee's assistants) and football contracts. The latter wins because in today's football they are not worth the paper they are written on. To many managers and players leave for so called "better opportunities" without fulfilling their obligations, in any other form of employment you would be taken to Tribunal, it also shows a lack of integrity or loyalty to those who finance the club and their wages i.e. the fans, sorry rant over with bah hum bug.
Favourite player: A tough one, also depends upon whether you mean current squad or generally, so I shall give you one of each. Steve Castle (past) had great spirit similar to Norris with guts, determination and a willingness to battle to the end, yet was technically better and hit the net more often. Current squad; Matt Doumbe great speed, composure on the ball and I feel he is one of the few players who could make it in the premiership, given the right club and guidance, just hope Harry Redknapp's not listening as Spurs need some good defenders with pace.
Hope for 2009: Clinching a play off spot just to give the Greens the thrill of getting to the premiership, although I feel realistically it is to soon for us, so reach the playoffs and get knocked out in semi finals, bounce back stronger and more determined with extra confidence next season.
Come on you Greens loud and proud Pilgrim.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR JAMIE MACKIE SIGNING DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR. POOR REFFEREING.
IF YOU CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL WHAT WOULD IT BE. BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS OFFSID RULE.
FAVOURITE PLAYER JAMIE MACKIE ,BECAUSE HE IS A WINNER AND EXCITING TO WATCH.
HOPE FOR 2009 PUSH ON FROM LAST SEASON.
Name: Tony Sherlock
Age: 63
Stand: Lyndhurst
Ticket: Season Ticket Holder
Highlight: Four goals against Sheffield Wednesday
Disappointment: Some very poor Home Park performances
Change: The offside rule
Favourite: Romain Larrieu. A very loyal and consistant player over the eight years at the club
Hopes: Top ten finish
Name: Roger Banister
Age: 52, supporter since 1969. I use to watch first and reserve games at Home Park as a boy.
I get down to Plymouth as often as I can, I get annoyed when visiting Plymouth for family celebrations that Argyle are playing away. Could the League please check with me and arrange home fixtures to coincide with my family's anniversaries?
My favourite players are those that connect with the fans e.g. Fred Binney, Mike Bickle and lately Wottsy.
Disappointments are any Argyle game lost or losing good players, I take these things personally.
Enjoyment: watching Argyle beat Southampton away last season 2-0, their fans started leaving at half time!
What could I change: I am a senior referee, leave the game alone Mr Platini, we don't need 5 officials or laser beams across goals. There would be nothing to discuss post match if it was made robotic.
Name: Robert Argyle Wright
Age: 53 years
Stand: Devonport End
Ticket: Season ticket holder
Highlight: Meeting Ronnie Mauge in the Centre Spot.
Disappointment: Not drawing Arsenal at home in the cup. Would have loved to see a packed Home Park. The trip to the Emirates should be memorable though.
Change: I would like to see a players wage cap brought in. Clubs face financial ruin for owing what some Premiership players earn in a year. I would like to see clubs more accountable for their finances. It can't be right that a club can owe £30m and still go out and buy a player for £5m and give him £2.5m in wages.
Favourite: Very difficult but I've gone for Marcel Seip for the way he has put his differences behind him and become Argyles most consistent reliable performer.
Hopes: I don't think that Argyle are ready for the Premiership but come May I would love to see them in the play offs and grab the opportunity if it comes along.
Name: Damien Allmark
Age: 21
Stand: Devonport
Ticket: Season Ticket
Highlight: 1-0 win away at Leicester in February...
Disappointment: Losing Ebanks-Blake in January
Change: Bring football back down to Earth. Get the money out of it and bring it back to when it was 11 men who cared about the shirt.
Favourite: Romain Larrieu. Solid keeper who's been with us through thick and thin.
Hopes: Consolidate and gel this year and press on in the 09/10 season towards the play-offs.

Name: Steve Hore
Age: 54 years old
Stand: Lyndhurst Block 9
Ticket: Season ticket holder
Highlight: Away form
Disappointment: Home form
Change: Electronic video decision making like rugby and tennis or two refs and one linesman in each quarter.
Favourite: Chris Clark. Never gives up. He's a grafter and is better than Norris. Our engine in midfield
Hopes: If Luggy keeps us in the top half he has done amazingly well. I hope the ground gets finished soon.

Name: Dave Gosling
Age: 52 years old
Stand: Lyndhurst Block 7
Ticket: Season Ticket
Highlight: Birmingham home match
Disappointment: Losing the above game
Change: Bring back terracing
Favourite: No one player - every player who wears the Argyle shirt.
Hopes: To be a more consistent winning team.
Name: Nick Rowe.
Age: 15.
Stand: Barn Park.
Type of Ticket: One-off visitor.
Highlight of the year: Getting Arsenal in the F.A cup.
Disappointment of the year: Our loss against Doncaster.
Change one thing about football, what would it be: The Referees.
Favourite player and why: Krisztian Timar, Strong, determined and saves us on occasions
Hopes for 2009: Try and maintain and get back to our winning ways.
Name: Ryan Glanville
Age: 17
Stand: Lyndhurst Block 10 Row S Seat 291
Type of ticket: Season Ticket Holder
Highlight of the year: Being involved in the amazing atmosphere at the Bristol City game at Ashton Gate
Disappointment of the Year: Losing 1-0 to Birmingham when we could easily have won it 5-0
If you could change one thing about football, what would it be: I think that all teams should have to have a squad containing 10 British players or more. Although this would have little change to Argyle, it would give more young players, like Craig Noone, a chance in the top divisions
Favourite player and why: Krisztian Timar has been my favourite player since he arrived. He is big and brutish when he needs to be but he is also always making those last second challenges against players who should easily outrun a player of his size
Hopes for 2009: To either finish in the play-offs or beat some big names in the FA & Carling Cup

Name: Jake Shillaber
Age: 6
Stand: Devonport End Family Area
Type of Ticket : Whenever Dad can afford it?
Highlight of the Year: Rory scoring the first goal of the season at home against Wolves, as we had a bet on him doing that, and also Rory coming along as special guest at my recent birthday party.
Disappointment of the Year: Ipswich game, we were well beaten in a game ruined by some very poor performances from the officials.
If i could change one thing about football what would it be: Don't keep changing the kit so often!
Favourite Player: Rory Fallon, see Highlights of the year above for at least two reasons why?
Hopes for 2009: To go to more games and see some improved performances at home hopefully leading us into the play-offs.

Name: Laura Wrathall + Alice Gloyn
Age: 14
Stand: Lyndhurst - Block 16 Row T Seats 476 + 477
Type of ticket: Season Ticket
Highlight of the year: beating Cardiff on sky, and the match agaisnt Birmingham, Argyle played amazing.
Disappointment of the year: the bad run at the start of the season and loosing alot of key players.
If you could change one thing about football what would it be: to have more games in a year!
Favourite player and why: Krisztian Timar - he gets the ball, and is a quality player.
Hopes for 2009: to finish in the playoffs.

Name: Tyler House
Age: 11
Stand: Mayflower (sometimes Lyndhurst)
Ticket: VIP Tickets
Highlight: hmmmm... too many great Argyle matches!!
Disappointment: Seeing Paul Wotton & Lilian Nalis leave Home Park!
One thing to change about footie: Either the offside rule or to ban Ronaldo!
Fav Player: Yoann Folly because he gets me VIP Tickets, one of best players
Hopes for 2009: To see Argyle promoted!

Name: Jack Rae
Age: 13
Stand: Lyndhurst Stand Block 12
Ticket: Season-Ticket Holder
Highlight: Going to the Emirates
Disappointment: Losing games we should of won
Change: Goal line technology (could have been useful against QPR)
Favourite: Chris Clark because he is always consistent in what he does
Hopes: Play-Offs reached

Name: Patrick Heafield
Age: 18
Stand: Mayflower
Type of ticket: Season Ticket Holder
Highlight of the Year: FA Cup draw!
Disappointment of the year: The exodus of players; Halmosi, Norris, Ebanks-Blake etc.
If you could change one thing about football, what would it be: Football throughout the summer! There's often abandoned games in the winter, so I'd have the season run from February to November.
Favourite player and why: Krisztian Timar - He's the Beast. 'Nuff said.
Hopes for 2009: A good run in the FA Cup or a push for the Play-offs

Name: James Wotton
Age: 18
Stand: Mayflower enclosure
Ticket: Season Ticket holder
Highlight of the year has to be the two quick goals against Cardiff and the FA Cup draw of course.
One major disappoinment of the season has to be not being able to beat Birmingham after playing so well.
Favourite: Chris Barker has been solid reliable defender since he joined us in the summer.
Hopes: First of all in 2009 beating Arsenal at the Emirates would be nice and then a surge for the play-off places.
AGE: 22
STAND: Mayflower
TYPE OF TICKET: Non-season ticket holder, whenever I can go
HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR: How well Plymouth Argyle has faired, after losing such valuable players. The highlight has been from where the club was to where we are after January. Remarkable achievement.
DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE YEAR: Two things have disappointed me. 1) Attendances, disappointing that as many as 2,000 people of Plymouth are unable to watch Plymouth Argyle. The atmopshere is not how it used to be. I used to be a regular in Block 16 and devonport and glad I moved. But still the attendances are worrying. 2) prices of coach travel. I haven't been to an away argyle match since Crystal Palace back in December 2007. Reason being the increased prices in travel. The travel club say petrol increases are to blame, but now there has been a considerable drop in prices surely the club should review its prices. I for one will be travelling if the prices were more respectable.
IF I COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT FOOTBALL, WHAT WOULD IT BE: Control over spending and wages should be through the FA.
FAVOURITE PLAYER AND WHY: Jamie Mackie. I have spoken and worked in the gym with the squad and Jamie in particular. He is young, energetic, enthusiastic and a great future ahead of him. HOPES FOR 2009: To cement our place in the Championship. We have seen the club start to drop out of the play off race. If Plymouth were in the Premiership, they need to remember there are only 20 teams.

Name: Kevin "Norfykev" Northcott
Age: 38
Stand: Lyndhurst Block 12
Type of Ticket: Season Ticket since Christmas 1984
Highlight of the Year: Going away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 to see the mighty Greens play really well and deservedly beat Ian Holloway's Leicester City on their own turf. The atmosphere in the away fans that afternoon was electric and the result capped off a truly memorable away day.
Disappointment of the Year: Playing so amazingly well at home against Birmingham City on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 and deservedly going off to a standing ovation but so many part-time fans not being there to see us play that well against a good Blues side. The reports could never convey quite how well we played and just how hard done by we were to come away with nothing from that game.
If you could change one thing about football what would it be: For me, there are many obvious difficult refereeing decisions that we, and all clubs to be fair, are often on the wrong end of. Not all of them can be helped, the ref is only human after all but some of them could be sorted with technology such as the question of whether a ball crosses the goal line or not. Stick some chips in the ball and posts - easy!
Favourite player and why: Since 1984 when I've been watching them, Tommy Tynan - there has not been a more clinical, instinctive forward in a green shirt since. This season, I'd have to say either Chris Clark who has been a revelation this season, or Marcel Seip who has come back on top form after falling out with the club and has to be regarded as one of the best Central Defenders outside of the Premiership.
Hopes for 2009: I'd love to see us promoted to the promised land of the Premiership but realistically I'd settle for a good, consistent season where we flirt with the playoffs at least, play good football and the people of Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall truly get behind the team. With good, vociferous support at every home game we could take on anyone.

Name: Paul Hatrey
Age: 41
Stand: Mayflower
Type of ticket: Season Ticket (green)
Highlight of the year: The way Argyle played against Birmingham
Disappointment of the year: Losing to Birmingham
If you could change one thing about football, what would it be: Bring back standing areas
Favourite player and why: Craig Noone - he has so much potential
Hopes for 2009: Progression
Name: Mike
Age: 16
Stand: Lyndhurst
Type of ticket: Season ticket
Highlight of the year: Beating Leicester away
Disappointment of the year: Halmosi, Ebanks-Blake and Norris being sold
If you could change one thing about football, what would it be: Man United
Favourite player and why: Jamie Mackie, simply the best!
Hopes for 2009: Getting through to the 4th round of the cup!
