ARGYLE'S Football in the Community Trust in Cornwall has enjoyed a hugely successful Whitsun Soccer Schools campaign.
In just four days at six venues, the Trust attracted 300 children to its Soccer Schools, another record this year.
In great weather, the children played matches, took part in competitions and practised their skills with top quality coaching from our UEFA qualified coaches, winning prizes galore.
Several children were invited to the FITC Development Centre in Newquay, which resumes on Tuesday, June 8. The centre is open to players by invitation only and is the next step up from schools coaching.
Cornwall's Fitc Football Development Officer, Pete Foxwell, was delighted with the numbers at all the venues.
"The kids were up for it at all the events and have been great fun to coach," he said, "and the weather was an added bonus."
The record numbers meant that the Trust could return more money to the venues that hosted us. Pete commented: "As a registered charity and Trust, helping the local communities by providing coaching and putting money back into the community means we are realising our aims. It's always a pleasure to help out schools by giving something back."
With summer just around the corner, plans are nearly complete for our Summer Soccer schools, so watch out for our flyers showing where the locations are.
Check us out at the Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge between June 10-12. Test your skills on our speed cage and accuracy targets. Win a signed shirt/ball and there are loads of giveaways.
