PLYMOUTH Argyle's disability team has been running since 2001.
We have continued to grow and develop to the point where we now have over 130 registered players ranging from ages eight to 56-years-old.
We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and welcome players of all disabilities.
The disability squads come under the umbrella of Argyle's highly successful Football in the Community scheme.
We currently have eight disability teams, six men's teams of varying ability, one youth team and one junior team, and we are also in the process of establishing a ladies team.
One of our main objectives in the future is to create a team for wheelchair users and a partially sighted team.
In the past four years, we have attended the National Disability Finals with a number of our teams
The year of 2008 has been a fantastic one for our squad as we achieved the ultimate accolade of securing the prestigious title of National Premiership Champions.
In addition to this, our Championship level team finished as runners-up in their section of the National Disability Finals.
We are also extremely proud to have two of our players being called up for trials with the England Deaf team and one player in the Senior England Cerebral Palsy squad.
Nine of our youth players are also regulars at County level in the disability football pyramid.
We are always on the look out for new players of all disabilities.
A lot of new players join the club without knowing any of their future team-mates. Everybody leaves that first training session with new friends and this is central to our vision.
