THE Argyle squad have taken on a new venture by returning to the classroom.
Students from schools across the local region have been inviting Pilgrims into their classrooms for a new series targeting the improvement of literacy.
Jim Paterson and Karl Duguid kicked-off the new scheme last week with a visit to Stoke Damerel Primary School.
Jim and Karl sat with the students to discuss the recipes for a good player and a good match before the kids from Year 5 set about writing poems on the subject. The afternoon was completed with a question and answer, and signing session.

David McNamee was next to take centre-stage, visiting Drake Primary School, where Year 6 students conducted a press conference to glean information on David's career, which they then used to write a biography of the Scottish defender.
In conjunction with the literacy scheme, Argyle's Community Trust Manager, Mark Rivers, conducted coaching sessions with students in the schools.
This week will see Rory Fallon and Chris Barker popping into Hyde Park Junior School for more 'Players in the Classroom' action.
Meanwhile, the French contingent at Argyle has been involved in an initiative designed to encourage young people to embrace modern foreign languages as a subject.
Romain Larrieu attended St Boniface School, Réda Johnson visited Estover and Yoann Folly was spreading the French word at Tamarside.
