LEE Martin has joined Argyle's Championship rivals Sheffield United on loan.

Martin enjoyed a successful three months with the Pilgrims and manager Paul Sturrock admitted that he was keen to extend the deal with the Manchester United youngster.

However, Martin has opted for a move to the club he helped Argyle defeat 1-0 at Bramall Lane in November.

Luggy said: "We are very disappointed that Lee has decided to move on but we understand that he is in the Manchester area, and Sheffield United is not too far. We can understand his decision-making from that scenario.

"He did very, very well for the football club and we would like to wish him well."
