SCOTLAND B international Chris Clark has become Argyle manager Paul Sturrock's latest signing.

Clark, 27, has agreed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Pilgrims following a £200,000 deal between Argyle and his previous club, Aberdeen.

He trained with his new team-mates on Wednesday and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's visit of Southampton to Home Park. He will wear the number six shirt.

Clark is an industrious, versatile central midfielder, who can also play full-back or out wide.

Luggy said: "When I was at Plymouth before, I had a player called Jason Bent, and Chris is very much in the same mould.

"He can play in four or five positions, so obviously it's a great benefit to us that he comes with that great pedigree.

"He's played in the Scottish Premier League since he was 18 years old. He's a very experienced; he's quick; he's two-footed; and is desperate to achieve something in the game

"He's had a long spell at Aberdeen; he really wants to do well; and he will kick on from a fresh start."

He has barely missed a game for the Dons in recent seasons, as Dons' fans have grown to admire his explosive, direct, style which is perfect for the counter-attack.

Last year, he made his Scotland B debut against Ireland, and has went on to make two more appearances for the Scotland B team.

He recently rejected the offer of a new contract from Aberdeen, for who he has made a total of 233 appearances, scoring nine goals.
