ARGYLE captain Lilian Nalis found FA Cup defeat at Fratton Park hard to stomach but is determined that the Pilgrims should take encouragement from their performance.
A bravura display by goalkeeper David James saw Premiership Portsmouth prevail 2-1 in the fourth-round encounter, as the England international kept out wave after wave of Argyle attacks.
Nalis now wants to put Ipswich under similar pressure in Tuesday's Coca-Cola Championship game at Portman Road.
"I still don't understand how we lost the game," he said, an hour after the match, "but this is football, and now we have to carry on.
"We have a game on Tuesday and we need to take all the good things we have done today into that game against Ipswich.
"I think everybody was really pleased with the performance. Now we have got to make sure we take it on board, start every game the same way, and try to play the same way.
"For me, our work-rate was superb today and we need to keep it like that for the rest of the season.
"We had chances in the second half as well and I really think we did well in the second half.
"We're disappointed with the result, and now we have to fight on in the league.
"I remember the game lat Ipswich last year, when we had a player [Mathias Kouo-Doumbe] sent off after one minute, and I just want my revenge. We are going to be up for it."
