THE HERALD FAMILY SECTION
ARGYLE have clinched a major signing for next season - with The Herald sponsoring one of the stands at Home Park.
As part of the deal, Block 1 of the Devonport stand will be renamed The Herald Family Section.
It boasts 609 seats and Argyle fans will have the option to have child or family names on their season ticket seats.
The Herald will have 20 Family Stand tickets available for every home game for competitions or worthy causes.
There will be lucky seat prizes at every game, and The Herald merchandise will also be available at the Pilgrim Pete's Place retail counter at the club.
The Herald's editor, Bill Martin, said: "We're delighted to be involved with the family stand.
"It's a great area where families can all get together and enjoy the excitement of the game."
Argyle chief executive Michael Dunford added: "We're delighted to be teaming up with The Herald, who I'm sure will bring an exciting extra dimension to the Family Section at Home Park.
"This season, we have established a thriving and pleasing family area and our partnership will take things to a new level next season.
"I'm convinced we will soon have one the best family enclosures in the Championship."
The announcement comes on the back of the club achieving The Football League's Family Excellence Award 2008.
