NO CONCRETE OFFER
ARGYLE manager Paul Sturrock has scotched media rumours linking Hungarian winger Péter Halmosi with a move away from Home Park.
Speculation-silly-season is now in full swing and Halmosi has been at the centre of proceedings.
Luggy, however, insisted no offers have been received and, should they arrive in the future, Halmosi will only be allowed to leave for a Plymouth-price.
"We have not had any concrete offers as yet," said Luggy.
"People sometimes think that what comes out in the media is always right but I want to emphasise to the fans that we have had no concrete offer for Péter Halmosi, or any of our players.
"Contracts mean nothing these days because of scenarios that arise but, if Péter Halmosi is going to leave, it will take a Plymouth price.
"That is important for everybody to understand and realize and, if there is anybody out there, they will be told of that scenario.
"Péter has made a value for himself and somebody has got to pay that value. He was very professional in his approach last year and I know he will not let down anyone at Plymouth Argyle."
The Premiership is obviously the preferred final destination for a player of Halmosi's quality and Luggy believes Argyle can be the vehicle to take him there.
The same can be said for Halmosi's compatriot Krisztián Timar, the Argyle Player of the Season, and Luggy is more concerned with sealing new contract deals for the pair than letting them go.
"Péter has made it plain that the Premiership is where he wants to play," said Luggy.
"I would have loved to give him that opportunity this year and I would like to think we could give him that in the next two or three years.
"At this moment, we would like to think we are going to tie up Péter's and Timár's contracts for a fair amount of time but that is ongoing."
