CLARK FILLS HIS BOOTS
SCOTTISH midfield man Chris Clark says he has no preference on where he plays, just so long as he is playing.
Having joined from SPL side Aberdeen in January, Clark kick-started his Argyle career with an early goal against Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup - a goal which turned out to be the only one that Portsmouth conceded on their way to winning the famous old trophy.
Clark played on the left wing that day but has been juggled around the defence and midfield ever since.
He said: "Over the majority of my time at Aberdeen, I played in centre midfield but it doesn't really matter - I don't mind where I play to be honest.
"I enjoy a challenge and I'll play anywhere -I've played in both full back positions and wide as well.
"It was something that I had to learn to do at my previous club and it helped me develop as a player."
As for Argyle's ambitions for this season, Clark is aiming for another top-half finish.
He said: "We need to aim to be in that top half and with the work rate and the squad we have got, we can do that.
"The manager [Paul Sturrock] has emphasised that we are going to be a hard working team and difficult to beat and I think that we'll be able to get into a strong position early on.
"You always want to aim higher than where you finished in the previous season. if you look at the teams that have come down from the Premiership and you look at the teams that have come up, it is going to be a very difficult league - as it always is and it is going to be a huge task."
