CRAIG Noone has made a positive start to life as a professional footballer.

The young winger happily abandoned life as a roofer on Merseyside to join Argyle from Blue Square North part-timers, Southport, last week.

He made his Green bow in the 5-2 reserve team defeat at Swindon on Tuesday and manager Paul Sturrock has already seen enough to believe the new recruit could become an important impact player.

Luggy said: "Noone did very well up to 55 minutes when a sniper in the stand shot him. I have been very pleased with his training as well.

"He is a hungry player and I would have no hesitation in giving him a bit-part in the team.

"He needs a good feed and he will be up to speed. He could be an impact player already, but I have got too many of them. If I bring people in now, they need to be starters.

"People look at the result of the reserves but I was very pleased. Swindon played a very strong team on the day but we had some excellent performances from the young players."
