FALLON AND THE FANS
THE wonderful atmosphere created in Argyle's opening day draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers left a lasting impression on the players.
Kiwi striker Rory Fallon is now hoping for a similar performance from the Green Army when his old club, Swansea City, visit on Saturday evening.
He said: "The fans were brilliant in the first game of the season and we need that kind of atmosphere again against Swansea.
"When the fans are like that, it raises our game."
Wolves, followed by a defeat at Reading, has been a challenging start for the Pilgrims and Fallon admitted that a win over the Swans is very important.
"It has been a tough start," he said. "We have probably had two of the contenders to go up.
"We had a tough day at Reading but I don't think many people will get points there. Our team has changed a lot, whereas they have kept the same team from the Premiership.
"People need to realize what is going on behind the scenes and we have to start keeping the same team week in, week out - it makes things easier.
"We need a win this week and that is all we are thinking about.
"We don't usually get beaten [at home]. It is not easy to win at Plymouth. We need to get stuck in this week and leave nothing on the field."
Fallon will be seeing some familiar faces, and some unfamiliar ones, when Roberto Martinez brings his team down to Home Park.
Times have changed for Swansea since Fallon left and Martinez has done a marvelous job in steering the Welsh outfit into the Championship.
Fallon said: "I would say about half the team has gone but I still know a few of the boys and it will be good to see them again.
"It is too big a club to stay in League One and, with Roberto [Martinez] as the Gaffer, they were only going to go one way.
"I played with him when I got there and he is a good guy. He was also a good player and a good captain. He kept things going and he knows the game.
"You could see it at the time and everyone was saying he should go on to management, and I think he knew that.
"He will probably be an even better Gaffer than he was a player. It depends how it goes with Swansea but I am sure he will go higher."
