ARGYLE have named a strong squad for the trip to play Reading in the Combination Cup at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow - kick-off 2pm.

The Combination Cup is a new competition for Championship clubs introduced this season. Argyle are in Group A alongside Reading, Southampton, Swansea and Bristol City.

Group B comprises Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, QPR and Watford. The winners from each group will play in the final.

Tomorrow's game is perfect timing for Argyle and manager Paul Sturrock will be accompanying the team to Reading, as he seeks to run the rule over a number of players on the fringes of his first-team.

Unfortunately, illness has prevented Goalkeeper Graham Stack from being among those seeking to stake a claim. Youngster Lloyd Saxton will, therefore, be between the sticks.

Hungarian Krisztián Timár and Jim Paterson will provide the experience in a back four that also contains Shane White and Ben Gerring.

Nicolas Marin, Simon Walton, Yoann Folly and Jason Puncheon will form a formidable midfield with Emile Mpenza and Steve MacLean firing the bullets in the van.

Substitutes: Oliver Chenoweth, Ryan Brett, Sean Kinsella, Damien McCrory, Ashley Barnes.
