STACK FOR SALE

Posted on: Wed 07 Jan 2009

GOALKEEPER Graham Stack is looking for a move away from Home Park.

The summer signing from Reading started the first five games of the season for the Greens but has since fallen out of favour with manager Paul Sturrock.

He spent December on loan at Championship rivals Blackpool, but did not feature for the Seasiders.

Luggy said: "Graham and I have had a conversation and it is important that Stacky plays regular first-team football - he has made that plain.

"The important thing for me is that everybody plays first-team football and Graham wants to play it. The situation is that Stack can go out on trial, go back on loan again or move permanently.

"He wants to play first-team football, plain and simple. If he is going to move on and he wants to move on, I have got to think of what is best for the football club."

The decision to axe him from the team in September was something of a surprise at the time but Romain Larrieu's excellent form has since justified Luggy's decision.

"That's football - we then went on an incredible run with Romain in goal and it is the decision a football manager has to take," said Luggy.

"I would hope for Stack's sake that somebody comes in and he gets his wish of playing first-team football, and we have had one kind of verbal enquiry."
