ARGYLE manager Paul Sturrock will be implementing a series of tactical changes this week in training to address the club's current slump in form.

The Pilgrims have been unable to produce a win since their 2-0 victory over Southampton on Boxing Day, and one important issue Luggy will be concentrating on is the role that striker Rory Fallon plays on the field.

The Kiwi, who last got his name on the score sheet against the Saints, has been used in a variety of roles so far this season and the manager believes he will be further instrumental to his upcoming plans.

"We are going through a stage where, when we are under pressure as a team, we rely too much on trying to find Rory," he said.

"I'd like to tinker with that and change it a wee bit.

"When we are struggling, he has become that option [but] the ball to Rory is too easy.

"It's a decent ball when played properly, but I also believe it's a 50-50 ball and recently we have tried to make the percentages higher in our favour.

"Now we've got to get back to using Rory as a Micky Evans-type [forward] and using another striker as a linkage player to get us up the football pitch more.

The manager is also weighing up the possibility of including players who could provide much-needed pace down Argyle's flanks.

Luggy has identified winger Craig Noone as one possible candidate and is hoping to implement his idea for the team's home clash against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, February 17.

"I do feel that somebody on the wing, like the boy Noone, that type of player should be involved in home games.

"Whether it's him, Jamie Mackie, or whoever, we must make sure that we have got that type of player in.

"We are going to change our whole style. We will be changing dramatically at home."

Before then however, the Pilgrims must first travel to London to face bottom-placed Charlton on Saturday. While he hopes some of his changes will be in effect by then, Luggy concedes that he has to be realistic in his approach.

"I would have loved it to be a home game to put into practice what I was hoping.

"The problem I have is that I have four days to implement another result away from home.

"Unfortunately, you're not going to play the same away from home that you will at home.

"But then I've only got two days to put together [a plan] for the Tuesday night game so I will be working on both things throughout this week.
