INTERNATIONAL PILGRIMS

Posted on: Thu 12 Feb 2009

ARGYLE defender Krisztián Timár came on as a 75th minute substitute in Hungary's 1-0 loss to Israel in Tel Aviv last night.

Timár, who won last season's Player of the Year award, was winning his fourth cap for his country.

Krisztián has found first team opportunities limited this season largely due to the form of Marcel Seip and Craig Cathcart but will hope that his international experience will help his domestic game.

Meanwhile, young Irishman Damien McCrory played the entire 90 minutes as the Republic or Ireland U19s slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Russia in Sochi on Tuesday.

The match was a warm-up for this summer's UEFA U19 Elite Qualifiers in Belgium.
