NEWCASTLE United are often reputed to have the most committed and passionate fans in the country.
The Toon Army will pack out St James' Park every week, whatever the state of their team, but they have a clear contender in the dedication stakes, particularly on the road.
Plymouth Argyle is comfortably the most isolated club in the country and yet the Green Army continue to astound with their wonderful support at away matches.
The large numbers expected to make the 700 mile round trip to Norwich is further evidence of the sort of dedication that would make a Geordie blush.
"Plymouth fans are probably the most dedicated of any because of the distances they have to travel," said manager Paul Sturrock.
"The away fans have been absolutely fantastic. The home fans have been different class under difficult circumstances but the away [support] has never changed.
"They have been right behind the team from the first minute to the last minute, whether we win, lose or draw.
"I passed two buses coming back from Swansea [on Tuesday night] and people are getting up for work the next day, and taking half-days - that is the dedication."
