Yeovil 1
Wakely 11
Argyle 2
Grant 22
Douala 40
NEW signging Rudi Douala grabbed his first goal in Green with a deflected effort in Argyle Reserves' 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town in the totesport.com Combination at Somerton earlier today.
Yeovil took the lead when a long ball wasn't dealt with by the Argyle defence, allowing Adam Wakely to convert with ease.
But 11 minutes later, the Pilgrims got back on level terms when Douala's smart move in the box allowed second year apprentice Josh Grant to fire home from a tight angle.
Then, five minutes before half-time, Argyle took the lead when Douala turned in the box to produce a smart finish.
Argyle could have extended their lead in the second-half when totesport.com top-scorer Joe Mason broke free and saw his shot canon off the crossbar and out for a goal-kick.
Head of Youth coaching Mike Pejic was pleased with the result but was disappointed by his side's second half showing.
He said: "Overall i was pleased with the first-half and I felt our passing game was excellent.
"But in the second half it was a little more scrappy. I felt we missed out the midfield and when we could have worked the ball, we didn't."
Argyle apprentice Ashley Hodgkinson turned out for the Glovers as part of his work experience period.
