Posted on: Sun 12 Apr 2009

A WAVE of optimism will carry Argyle up the M5 for tomoorow's match at Birmingham City.

Yesterday's fantastic 4-0 win over Coventry City has lifted the Pilgrims six points clear of the relegation zone with just four games remaining.

Left-back Gary Sawyer is expecting the Green to build on that result with an open performace at prmotion-chaisng Birmingham.

"Birmingham is a massive game and a chance for us to get more points," he said.

"Birmingham are near the top and pushing, so they could be quite edgy. I think they will come on to us, which will leave the game quite open, so we could hurt them if we go forward.

"It is a good game for us to have. Obviously they are a great side - everyone knows that, but, if we do it right, we have got a chance."
