WE have received a staggering number of votes for the annual Argyle Player of the Season award and we would like to thank everyone for contributing to the process.

Three names took the vast majority of your votes and it is clear from the selections that commitment to the Green cause was high on your list of criteria when making this difficult choice.

In third place is a player, whose incredible enthusiasm and desire to succeed has seen him develop into the genuine article Championship level. Please put your hands together for the third-placed player in your vote, the superb Jamie Mackie.

In second place is a player, who has formed the backbone of the Argyle defence for the last three years. A terrific reader of the game and a man who seems to revel in the art of defending. Second in your vote is Marcel Seip.

The winner received over 50% of the total vote. He is a man we all respect for his integrity and courage. He is a player we all admire for his composure under pressure. On many occasions this season, he has been the main reason we have turned draws into wins, and losses into draws. A true gentleman, the longest-serving in the current Pilgrim squad, and your Plymouth Argyle Player of the Season for 2008-09, Le Keeper, Romain Larrieu.
