MESSAGE TO RUDI

Posted on: Sun 03 May 2009

CAMEROON international Rudi Douala made his full debut for the Pilgrims on Sunday but seems unlikely to extend his short Argyle career into next season.

The striker played for an hour in the 2-1 final-day defeat by Barnsley before being substituted by Jamie Mackie.

Argyle manager Paul Sturrock said: "I had a look to see if he could play and I didn't think he was any better than we had."

Luggy believes that, although Douala's role before Sunday was that of a substitute, his presence at Home Park benefited the Pilgrims.

"Douala came here at an unfortunate time," he said.

"The essence of him was basically sitting on the bench, which seemed to put an edge to one or two of the boys playing at the time.

"Rudi and I have got to have a conversation tomorrow but I think it is safe to say that I won't be offering him a contract."
