PHILL Gill has resigned as a director of Plymouth Argyle.

Mr Gill is standing down from the Home Park boardroom after eight seasons, having become a director on the eve of the 2001-02 Nationwide Third Division title-winning campaign.

Argyle chairman Paul Stapleton said:

"I would like to thank Phill for his contribution to the Board and for his dedication to the team, on and off the pitch.

"Phill has been a member of the board with me since we took over from Dan McCauley in August 2001 and has played an important part in the growth of the club since that time.
