THE large squad of players currently contracted to Argyle has left manager Paul Sturrock with a balancing act to perform.

Trimming the squad before bringing in new players is obviously the preferred option for Luggy and the Argyle Board.

The nature of football, however, means that Luggy has to remain on the front foot as far as adding fresh blood is concerned.

"I am under a chairman and directors, and they have made it plain what they want me to do," he said.

"The Board realise that you can't stop a work in progress, so we will still soldier on as far as bringing players here."

The offloading process remains a priority for Luggy and he is hopeful that recent enquiries for some of his players will develop into official bids.

"We have had enquiries for two or three of our players but that's as far as it has gone," he said.

"We have had no official bids yet. We have been asked about the availability of certain players and the price range.

"There has been a lot of interest from managers trying to find out a price before they go back to their Board and talk.

"I am going to re-emphasise to a lot of managers, just to get it in their minds again.

"They will be coming back from holiday and trying to focus on their squads, so it is an appropriate time [to remind] that we have players we want to move on."
