WINDOW SHUTS

Posted on: Tue 01 Sep 2009

THE transfer window closed at 5pm on Tuesday without any significant changes to the Plymouth Argyle squad, leaving manager Paul Sturrock frustrated.

Luggy had been hoping to add to the Pilgrims' squad, and maybe move some players out.

However, with the exception of a deal for goalkeeper Kyle Letheren that extends his spell at Home Park until the end of the year, there was no business concluded at Home Park.

"Some of the targets we have been pursuing for the last two or three weeks have failed to come to fruition," said Luggy.

"It is very disappointing.

"I had identified areas of the squad that needed strengthening and was hoping to bring in a couple of players on loan for six months to a year.

"I was looking at permanent deals, as well.

"For one reason or another, none of them has happened.

"We haven't been successful in moving players out ,either, so it has been a frustrating day or two.

"However, the emergency loan window opens next Tuesday, so I will now be focusing all my concentration on that."
