ARGYLE manager Paul Sturrock believes there is light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

It has been a horrible start to the season and Luggy is well aware that Saturday's trip to Newcastle United is a daunting challenge, as his side looks to record a first win of the campaign.

The new Board at Argyle are understandably frustrated but, like Luggy, they believe we are showing signs of improvement. It is a feeling reflected by sections of the Green Army.

Luggy said: "They [the Board] are totally frustrated because they can see we are tip-toeing in the right direction as far as general play is concerned and the other aspects of our game, but we shoot ourselves in the foot with clinical errors - howlers.

"If I wasn't seeing total commitment from the players as far as endeavour is concerned, then you sit down and clear your head.

"We have worked very hard on certain aspects of our game this year and we're starting to see benefits, but not benefits in points.

"The letters I have received since Saturday have been unbelievable - fans who are starting to look at things in a different complexion.

"You will always have dissenters who think a change of management is the way forward. There always has been, and always will be, that aspect, but I've been really buoyed by the support from people phoning me, texting me, e-mailing me, sending letters and posting on Argyle Insider.

"There is a solid base of people who are respective of the situation we are in and they realise there are glimmers.

"In the doom and gloom of football, there is, now and then, a shining light."
