SHANE Lowry's superb form for Argyle has been rewarded by a call-up to the Australian national squad.

The Socceroos take on Oman in Muscat on Saturday, November 14 in a qualifying match for the AFC Asian Cup.

Lowry was included in the Australia squad for the recent friendly with Holland in Sydney and the Melbourne meeting with Oman but failed to make an appearance in the team.

This latest selection represents an opportunity for Lowry to win his first cap and would complete an excellent spell for the defender, who has been a revelation at Home Park since joining on loan from Aston Villa in September.
