KÁRI Árnason will continue in his new role as a defender.

The Icelandic international, brought to Home Park in the summer as a midfielder, has earned much praise in his recent role at the heart of the Pilgrims' defence.

"Arnie has committed himself to centre-back now," said Argyle manager Paul Sturrock, after Argyle's unlucky 1-0 defeat at Leicester on Saturday.

"He feels he has befitted from the work we have done with him.

"He's enjoying playing there, although there are wee things he's going to have to work on in his game."
