HEAD MARINER

PLYMOUTH Argyle Chairman Sir Roy Gardner today announced that Paul Sturrock will cease to be manager of the club and Paul Mariner, the club's Head Coach, would take charge of all football activities with immediate effect.

Sir Roy said: "The board has decided to make this move following the continuing poor set of results.

"Paul Mariner will take charge of all football matters until further notice.

"We are convinced that we have the capability to improve our performance and remain in the Championship."

Paul Sturrock will continue with the club in a business-support role, working with Argyle Executive Director Keith Todd.

The board would like to thank Paul Sturrock for his considerable contribution to Plymouth Argyle over many years.
