LUKE Summerfield has returned from a successful loan spell at Leyton Orient and could be thrust straight back into Championship action.

The young midfielder enjoyed an excellent 15-game spell at the League One club and Head Coach Paul Mariner is preparing Luke for duty at Cardiff City on Boxing Day.

"I was pleased to welcome Luke Summerfield back to the club today, which was very good," said Mariner.

"Luke's been doing very well, so we're absolutely open to everything. We have had very good reports and he's done very well."
