ARGYLE are already looking to extend the contract of Kári Árnason beyond the end of this season.
The Icelandic international has been a massive success since his summer signing and Head Coach Paul Mariner is looking to secure his services for longer than the original one-year deal.
Nominally a midfielder, Arnie has shown his worth to the team with a string of composed displays at centre-back.
"We're attending to it [the contract] now," said Mariner. "Since Paul [Sturrock] put him back to playing central defence, we have worked with him on the coaching side.
"He has responded and he really likes that position. He can still obviously play in midfield but he has done a fantastic job back there."
