CREATING a wonderful atmosphere at Home Park is down to the players on the pitch.

This is the view of Argyle Head Coach Paul Mariner ahead of Saturday's FA Cup visit of Newcastle United.

The Green Army generated exceptional noise in Monday's 4-1 drubbing of Reading and Mariner believes another good performance will produce another great atmosphere.

"The crowd is always vitally important to any team but we're under no illusions that it's the team that gets the crowd going," he said.

"It's up to the players and the staff to get everything as right as possible for Saturday.

"Hopefully, we can have a wonderful atmosphere and a great result."
