SATURDAY'S FA Cup game with Newcastle United saw the return of Chris Barker to the centre of defence.
It was a sight to see for the packed Home Park, a man who has been out of action for the entirety of the current season. And he lasted the whole game, helping Argyle keep out the Magpies to earn a replay.
Head Coach Paul Mariner was full of praise for the defender, calling his performance "quite remarkable".
"For him to come and do what he did against such a high powered, attacking team as Newcastle and playing 90 plus minutes was pretty remarkable. He's a very strong character and very experienced and it was great to see him."
Another player who has caught Mariner's attention is Luke Summerfield. The midfielder had an impressive three month spell at Leyton Orient earned him a recall to the Argyle first team much to the praise of Argyle's Head Coach.
"Summers has been a bit of a revelation for us, his passing ability, thought he came in at Cardiff and did extremely well and has just continued to do so."
Head Coach Paul Mariner also had some news on injured players ahead of Saturday's fixture with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
"Jim (Paterson) is rehabbing with Claire Turner. He's still a bit of a way off. Judgey's training today and Luke is not training today, but I'm told they're both going to be okay for the weekend."
