KÁRI Árnason has signed a two-year extension to his current contract, keeping him at Home Park until the summer of 2012.
The deal comes as reward for the Icelandic international's terrific form for the Greens since signing an initial one-year deal in July.
Arnie was originally signed as a midfielder but has been converted into a fantastically composed centre-back in the hectic world of the Coca-Cola Championship.
"I'm extremely pleased," said Head Coach Paul Mariner. "He's been an integral part of what we've been doing.
"He's been a leader for us out on the field and, as everybody knows, he came in as a central midfield player. I still think he can do that job but he is playing centre of defence, and his consistency level has been fantastic.
"There are a lot of upsides to Arnie. He is everything a coach or manager would want. He can't wait to work, he's very attentive, he wants to get better and he's a great bloke.
"It's a good day for the club to get him signed up."
