GETTING ON WITH IT

Posted on: Fri 08 Jan 2010

THIS week has seen Plymouth blanketed in a shade of white with snow and ice causing major problems with traveling and working.

Argyle has not escaped the "big freeze" with the training ground out of use, but the club has useful friends in the area.

Head Coach Paul Mariner and the players have not been able to fully train as usual but this has not halted the desire ahead of Saturday's game at QPR.

"There is nothing we can do about it [the weather]," said Mariner. "You try to prepare the players as best as you can.

"Ivybridge Community College has helped us out enormously. MarJons [The College of Saint Mark and Saint John] have helped us out enormously, and the Devonshire [Leisure Centre].

"It hasn't been too much ball-work for the lads, as you can imagine, but we're keeping their fitness levels up, taking care of the injured players and making sure they get what they require.

"This is not an ideal week but the players know what their task is. They're very resilient and hungry for the game on Saturday.

"Hopefully, we can just keep repeating the progress we've been making."
