POSSIBLE ADDITION

Posted on: Mon 25 Jan 2010

ARGYLE Head Coach Paul Mariner has hinted at the possibility of acquiring a new loan recruit ahead of Tuesday's clash with Derby County at Home Park.

Goalkeeper David Stockdale joined the Greens on loan from Fulham last Friday and Mariner is tentatively hopeful of another new face for the visit of the Rams.

He said: "We may have a player come in prior to the game but he's already with another club, so, until that comes to fruition...

"We would like it to be for the rest of the season but it may be short-term. One other player that we have targeted has got a slight injury that we need to address."

Mariner also has four trialists training with his squad at present, allowing him and assistant John Carver to cast an eye over their talents.

"They are just going to train with us," he said. "They are from all over Europe and we have one player in from Portsmouth."
