PAUL Mariner described Jamie Mackie match-winning strike against Derby County as a "tremendous piece of skill".
Argyle's Head Coach was naturally delighted with the crucial win over the Rams after the postponement of the weekend fixture with Barnsley.
The return of Mackie was also much-awaited after Argyle's Mr Enthusiasm missed the last two games through illness, and he delivered with a sweet strike from the rebound of a Luke Summerfield free-kick.
"Jamie was chomping at the bit on Saturday and we were all sad that the game was off," said Mariner.
"You could see with his energy what he brings to the team. He is a constant threat for any defence and his goal was top drawer.
"On that surface, the way that he set himself up and the balance he showed to clip it inside the right-hand post gave the keeper no chance. It was a tremendous piece of skill on a real dodgy field.
"We harp on all the time about second phase balls and reaction off the initial free-kick, and he did it to the letter."
