UNSUNG HERO

Posted on: Fri 29 Jan 2010

CHRIS Clark's return to regular first-team football has coincided with Argyle's improved form over recent weeks.

The unassuming midfielder has always been considered a consistent performer and Head Coach Paul Mariner feels the Scot has been an unsung hero.

It is a sign of his progress that Clark is once again expected to start in Saturday's relegation clash at Sheffield Wednesday.

"Chris Clark has been, as quite a lot of the players have been, very consistent," said Mariner.

"He has been a bit of an unsung hero. Goalscorers do get the limelight and goalkeepers with big saves sometimes get the headlines.

"Clarky has been very consistent and his work on both sides of the ball is fantastic. He's doing absolutely everything the staff ask him to do, and more."
