DRIBBLES AND WHIPS

Posted on: Fri 29 Jan 2010

CRAIG Noone is continuing to push hard for a starting place.

Argyle's talented winger again impressed as a substitute in Tuesday's win over Derby County and he stole the show in a 7-0 reserve team thumping of Southampton the following day.

Head Coach Paul Mariner admitted it is getting more and more difficult to exclude Noone, and he remains a strong possibility for Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

"He was sparkling in the reserve game and we have competition for places," said Mariner.

"Players are pushing each other and he looked as though he was really on his game [at Southampton].

"At the present moment, we've been using him as an impact player and he has certainly impacted games, so we'll make a decision on that.

"He's tremendous on the dribble and whips in good balls."
