SHELTERBOX
SHELTERBOX will be attending Saturday's game with West Brom at Home Park to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Argyle have invited Shelterbox to the fixture on February 6 and collectors from the Rotary Club will be dotted around the stadium for supporters to make their donations.
Shelterbox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster.
Based in Helston, Cornwall, Shelterbox have already helped to set up camps for survivors of the tragedy that struck the impoverished island of Haiti on January 12.
The charity has also been heavily involved in setting up field hospitals and providing temporary accommodation for the most vulnerable people in Haiti.
Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. The contents are tailored depending on the nature and location of the disaster, with great care taken sourcing every item to ensure it is robust enough to be of lasting value.
Since its inception in 2000, ShelterBox has firmly established itself at the forefront of international disaster relief, providing emergency shelter for the people who need it most on every continent.
Argyle would like to extend a special thank-you to HCPT, who were scheduled to attend on Saturday, but have kindly stepped aside to allow Shelterbox to carry out this emergency collection. Your understanding and flexibility is greatly appreciation.
Please visit the Shelterbox website for more information on the organisation www.shelterbox.org.uk and the Green Army are urged to give what they can for this truly urgent cause.
