Mariner has been delighted with the way fans have backed the team in recent weeks and he is hopeful of a decent attendance tomorrow.

The arrival of Kenny Cooper and Damien Johnson at Home Park also adds an interesting element to a mouthwatering match.

"I just hope the crowd can come and look at the players we have brought in, and get behind the team," said Mariner.

"The crowd have been fantastic. We appreciate them and we know we've got to get them going on the field. If we can get a few in on Saturday, it would be great.

"I think they appreciate it is going to take a bit of time but the one thing fans want to see is effort.

"If fans see effort and we're fighting for that Green shirt, there's a lot of forgiveness in them."
