CALL UPS

Posted on: Tue 16 Feb 2010

ARGYLE midfielder Damien Johnson has been called by Northern Ireland to play Albania on March 3.

Experienced international Johnson is a regular in the Northern Ireland setup and should he be selected, he will win his 57th cap for his country.

Meanwhile, Argyle youngsters Joe Mason and Sean Kinsella have been called up by the Republic of Ireland Under 19s for a Training Camp in Buckinghamshire.

Mason has played several times for the Republic but for Stafford born Kinsella, who qualifies for Ireland through his grandparents, it will be a first taste of the international setup.

Kinsella was released by Stoke City two years ago and snapped up for Argyle by head of youth coaching Mike Pejic, who six months later recommended him for inclusion in the England under-17 team, but when that recommendation was not followed up, he suggested to the Republic that they consider him for their under-19 squad.

Alan Judge has also been included in the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for their UEFA qualifier against Armenia in Dublin on Wednesday, March 3.
