CARL Fletcher's seamless transition from loan player to Argyle captain has barely been noticed.
It is a sign of the Welsh midfielder's natural leadership skills and head coach Paul Mariner is delighted to have Fletch as his voice on the pitch.
It is a voice that has picked up nine cautions this season but Mariner would not change a thing about his skipper, and Fletch will again lead the team in the Tuesday night meeting with Swansea at Home Park.
"Tackles fly around in central midfield and a couple of mis-timed tackles, you're in the book," said Mariner.
"He's a winner and somebody that you want as your captain. He's leading from the front and leading by example.
"He's getting in the box, scoring goals, breaking up attacks and doing everything you could wish for in a captain. I wouldn't want to change him in any way, just keep doing what he does.
"As a captain and in the heat of battle, it is never the easiest to keep control. He cares about what he's doing and wants to try and get the lads a fair crack of the whip."
