YALA Bolasie is like a bottle of pop ready to burst into life.
The flying winger thrust himself into first-team contention with a stunning substitute appearance at Barnsley last weekend and followed that with another cameo against Swansea in midweek.
He has made terrific progress from his loan spell at Barnet earlier in the season and head coach Paul Mariner believes his quality goes beyond just raw pace.
"He has still got things that he needs to work on," said Mariner. "He is like a bottle of pop. When you shake it up, he's fizzing and fizzing.
"Sometimes there's not much structure to his game but that's the beauty of being a young player. It's exciting and the fans respond to it.
"[Carl] Fletcher and Damien [Johnson] sometimes have to rein him in a little bit but there's a massive upside to players like Yala and Craig Noone.
"It is a bonus for us to have him come in and be so infectious with the team but at the present moment he'll be an impact player.
"We had very good reports [from Barnet]. We saw him constantly. When you've got a God-given talent, which is pace, it does give you a leg-up on everybody.
"Track stars are not footballers, so you've got to temper that thought a little bit. He's got two decent feet, he's quick, he's very strong and he has a tremendous engine to get up and down.
"For a player who has not played much in the so-called bigger league, he wants to learn and he is very receptive to coaching."
