PLYMOUTH Argyle Under-18s surrendered a one-goal lead to succumb to defeat at the hands of an impressive Swansea City side at Haye Road on Saturday morning.
Jared Sims gave the Greens the lead midway through the first half, but the Welsh side hit back just after the break and stole the points with a late strike.
Argyle's apprentices had been training with coach Mike Pejic throughout the week, but they were slow to start and Jake Baker was forced into a goal-line clearance as early as the second minute.
Argyle weathered the early storm, however, and took the lead shortly after Sean Kinsella rattled the crossbar in the 24th minute.
Sims was the fastest to react to a loose ball in the box after Argyle had once again shaken the woodwork when City had failed to clear a corner.
Taking inspiration from first-team coach Paulo Sousa, the young Swans were intent on playing the passing game, but they hit back five minutes into the second half via a set-piece.
New signing Jordan Berry was cautioned for a wild lunge and he was duly punished as slack Argyle marking allowed Swansea to head home the leveller.
The Welsh side completed the comeback minutes from time, when they rifled in off the crossbar from close range to take all three points.
