BRADLEY Wright-Phillips, Argyle's match-winner in the amazing come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Doncaster, was happy to share the limelight with his fellow goalscorer.
BWP joined Pilgrims' assistant head-coach John Carver in paying tribute to Joe Mason, whose close-range equaliser at the Keepmoat, provided the platform for the injury-time winner that keeps Argyle right in the mix to avoid Championship relegation.
"He's got the 'fox-in-the-box' tag with the lads now," said Bradley, of the home-grown teenager. "He's always in and around, he'll sniff out a goal."
Mason netted after coming on as a second-half substitute for Yala Bolasie, soon levelling James Coppinger's goal for the home side, tucking the ball home after Doncaster goalkeeper Neil Sullivan had failed to hold Damien Johnson's long-range drive.
John Carver said: "It was a great effort by Damien Johnson, parried by Sully, and Joe Mason, who is still developing as a young player, has got natural instincts and he gets himself in the right areas.
"You can see that from the goal he scores; he's always thinking, following things in, and he did that.
"Getting in the right areas is a great striker's knack, and that's one gift he has, amongst other gifts. He is going to score goals. He's scored goals at every level he's played at.
"But we won't get carried away with him. We'll keep his feet on the ground. It's very important he continues to develop. Let's face it - he's got a great teacher in the manager, as strikers go."
Mason's introduction changed the game, giving Argyle an impetus they had lacked up until then.
John said: "We had many discussions on the sidelines because we were looking to improve it, to bring some more energy to the team. It was pretty obvious to me that Joe Mason was going to be the one we were going to call on and we did.
"He came in and gave us that little injection. Bolasie was looking a little bit tired. He has had a lot of football and has done a great job for us but it was time to bring him out of that situation and bring Joe into it."
