KARL Duguid completed Peter Reid's Fantastic Day by rubber-stamping a one-year contract extension at Home Park.
After Yala Bolasie agreed a new two-year deal following the opening day's training under the new manager, Doogie followed suit by nailing his colours to the Pilgrims' mast.
The experienced midfielder has exercised an option on his previous deal, which expired on Wednesday, to stay with the Pilgrims for 2010-11.
Doogie, 32, who has been a virtual ever-present since signing from Colchester United in the summer of 2008, is looking forward to working with the new gaffer.
"I had an option for another year if I played a certain number of games last season," said Karl, "and that kicked in when the old contract ran out.
"The manager's been named now and I think it's a great appointment, to be honest.
"There were a lot of names in the frame before Peter's was mentioned and I immediately liked the sound of that.
"I think it is a good coup for the club, and shows ambition, in my opinion. They do not come much bigger.
"With Paul Mariner and John Carver staying, too, things are looking good. There is positive vibe about the place."
The coming season will see Doogie return to Colchester for the first time since since he ended a 12-year association with his only other professional club in 2008.
"I am looking forward to it," he said. "I haven't played at the new ground, of course.
"It will be nice to go back, see a few friends...and hopefully get one over them!"
Before that, the Pilgrims kick off the new npower League One at Southampton.
"The first game is massive one," said Karl. "Southampton are one of the favourites to get promoted.
"Our division is a tough one - Leeds struggled, Nottingham Forest struggled - and it will be tough from the start.
"It's important we get stuck straight in."
