THE Beast is back!
Argyle defender Krisztián Timár returned to first-team action after a seven-month absence with a bravura performance in the Pilgrims' 1-0 defeat by AZ Alkmaar in Anna Paulowna on Wednesday night.
The Argyle player of the season for 2007-08 has had a miserable two years with injury but looked his old self, partnering Kari Árnason in the second game of Argyle's visit to Holland.
"I worked hard and I couldn't wait to play again," he said. "I am really pleased to be back in the first-team after a long time.
"Listen, especially after my head injury, many, many players have finished football with similar injuries.
"But I have got a really good attitude and I tried to push myself. I really wanted to come back so I can show I can be the same as I was before."
Kris knows he faces competition for his position, not just from Arnie, but also Réda Johnson and Bondz N'Gala.
"That's not my problem," he said. "I will just try to do my best, to work really hard, and then it is the manager's problem."
