PUTTING THE BOOT IN

Posted on: Mon 16 Aug 2010

RORY Patterson scored his first goal for Argyle in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Carlisle and was quick to put his last-gasp strike down to his new adidas boots.

The Northern Irish summer-signing was lucky to make the squad after a hellish return journey from Montenegro following a 2-0 international defeat in mid-week.

After his bags had been lost and a delay in Bristol, Rory spent Friday afternoon picking up a brand new pair of boots in order to feature at Home Park.

He said: "There was a few of us that flew in from Montenegro to Manchester and there was some confusion in Montenegro as to where we were picking the bags up.

"Me and a couple of Man United boys lost our bags and still don't know when we'll get them back.

"We went from Montenegro to Paris, from Paris to Manchester, Manchester to Bristol and Bristol to Plymouth.

"I went on Friday to pick up some new boots because we lost everything," Rory added.

"I think I'll keep hold of these ones."
