ARGYLE Reserves suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat to their Swindon Town counterparts in the totesport.com Combination at the County Ground.
David Ball's first-half effort was built on by former Argyle trainee Sean Morrison after the break before Thomas Dossevi and Josh Parsons both struck to make it an afternoon in Wiltshire to forget for the Pilgrims.
Argyle head coach Paul Mariner was obviously disappointed with the result but managed to find several positives from the game.
He said: "we had a young side out, and at 1-0 at half-time we were a little unlucky to go in a goal down.
"But in the second-half, we didn't really give a good account of ourselves, we let in some poor goals. People didn't mark correctly in the box and we paid the highest price.
"I think 4-0 was a little bit harsh on the lads and we're very disappointed.
"There were a couple of bright spots though. I though Curtis Nelson played very, very well in the heart of the defence and continues to progress very, very well.
"It's always good to get the fitness levels up in games because try as you might, you can't replicate that in training."
