Argyle manager Peter Reid and Kári Árnason felt the Icelander's sending-off at the end of Argyle's 2-1 defeat at Walsall was cruel, writes Rick Cowdery.
Kari was dismissed by referee Keith Hill in second-half injury-time after clashing with Alex Nicholls on the edge of the Pilgrims' penalty area after the Saddlers' striker had been played in from deep.
"I'm not here to criticise referees - it's a hard job out there - but I thought it was a harsh one," said Peter. "I'm not sure what the contact was, but it doesn't matter what I think. Those things happen in football."
Arnie explained: "We were not organised at the back and I saw the ball coming for miles. It was a great ball and he had yards on me.
"I had my arms up, looking at the ball, and he moves into me. He gets a touch on me but made the most of it and the ref buys into it.
"He was a long way from goal. I thought it was harsh. It slowed him down, but he was still going."
Kári will now miss Argyle's home games against Peterborough United and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Peter said: "I've got Réda [Johnson] who can go in there. I've got [Bondz] N'Gala.
"That's why we have so many players in the squad these days. It's a chance for someone to go in and do a job for us."
